There is no doubt that Daniel Negreanu, aka "Kid Poker", who lives in Las Vegas but was born in Toronto, is one of the best poker players. He is one of the highest earning tournament poker players of all time and he is promoted by a wide fan base all over the world. Thus, he could be the unofficial ambassador of poker. He was born on July 26, 1974. In 1967, his parents moved from Romania to Canada. They always encouraged their children to achieve their dreams. Listening to the parental advice Negreanu dropped out of school right before his graduation and started playing poker. Meanwhile, he increased his bankroll by beating his old rivals twice her age. At age 21, he moved to Las Vegas and began playing as a professional player. The "Strip" school, however, proved difficult, and not long after his arrival, he suffered serious defeats, and then returned to Canada to consolidate his bankroll. His luck turned in 1997, when he was declared as best player of the Foxwood Word Poker Finals tournament. In 1998, at age 23, he won the Pot Limit Hold'em event and became the youngest WSOP champion. He held this title until 2004. Still the same year, Kid Poker got into the final tables in 11 tournaments, won two WPT events, and won his third WSOP bracelet in Limit Hold'em. He won his fourth bracelet in 2008, also in a Limit Hold'em tournament. Since age 23, with his continuous series of winning, Negreanu shows the confidence of the new generation of poker players, who have grown up with video games and internet, and consider poker as a sport competition. Negreanu is one of the best young players, who regularly appears on television programs, publishes in the specialist press and shares his experiences also in Super System 2. Apart from poker, he likes playing ice hockey, golf, loves comedy and loves to write. Negreanu currently lives in Las Vegas, where he plays the world's highest-stakes cash games. Warning: never believe his friendly manners when facing him at the poker tables. A real predator, who strikes the weak, just as the shark begins to suck the blood of the victim. Kid Poker is a very aggressive player, playing any two cards under any circumstances. The base of his game is mathematics, so he always knows when to take risks. He is one of the best players in the sense that he can figure out what is in the hands of his opponent. In 2010, the total live tournament winnings he received exceeded $ 14 million which put him on top of the all-time money winners list at the time. He is recognised as a charming, intuitive, and powerful player who is respected by emerging generation of professional poker players. |
