22-year-old German player, Team Poker Stars Pro Pius Heinz won the latest WSOP Main Event in No Limit Holdem in Las Vegas. His prize is $8,715,638. Since 2008, he is the eighth Poker Stars player of the WSOP Main Event winners and he is the first German among them.
In the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, in the final three-handed session, he was playing against the American Ben Lamb and the Czech Martin Staszko. His $8.7 million first prize was the fourth biggest amount ever won in a poker tournament. The total prize pool for the event was over $64 million.
Heinz is wearing his hoody on all the poker events, that is his lucky charm, and before this tournament he was coached by one of the most famous Poker players. In an interview he said, this was the game of his life as “it is the dream of every poker player to win this tournament once in a lifetime”. His next tournament will be the EPT Prague. His dream is to win an EPT and to be successful at the next WSOP.
